I created a composite image of Dolly Sods at sunrise. Dolly Sods is part of a wilderness area in the Allegheny Mountains of eastern West Virginia, USA, and is part of the Monongahela National Forest of the U.S. Forest Service. Using a Fall Image taken in October of the tundra looking landscape I combined it with an earlier sunrise taken in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. I then added a painting filter with some of my own brush work with the Photo Shop painting tool to create this impressionistic image.
Image earned a first place tie in the FAA contest "Colorful Fall Photography" on 10/15/20

Welcome to Art Cole's Photography. As a photographer Art has a passion for photographing all types of subject matter, but gravitates towards Nature Photography. He has shot digitally since 2000 and enjoys taking advantage of this dynamic photographic medium and uses degrees in Commercial and Studio Art as a foundation for the images he captures. He also loves to take advantage of the many photographic opportunities that exist in the Washington DC Metro area in which he currently resides. Although he shoots a great deal in the DC area he will from time to time venture out of the region to discover and capture new dynamic images.
