A Cherry tree limb reaches out over the tidal basin in Washington DC in early morning light as the cherry trees are near peak bloom. The Cherry Tree Festival, an annual Spring event in Washington DC draws thousands of people each year to see the approximately 3,750 cherry trees that line the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC. Most of the trees are Yoshino Cherry trees. Their gorgeous pink and white blooms contrast with and accent iconic National monuments such as the Jefferson and Washington Monuments each spring, Filters were used to give this image a painterly feel.

Welcome to Art Cole's Photography. As a photographer Art has a passion for photographing all types of subject matter, but gravitates towards Nature Photography. He has shot digitally since 2000 and enjoys taking advantage of this dynamic photographic medium and uses degrees in Commercial and Studio Art as a foundation for the images he captures. He also loves to take advantage of the many photographic opportunities that exist in the Washington DC Metro area in which he currently resides. Although he shoots a great deal in the DC area he will from time to time venture out of the region to discover and capture new dynamic images.
