Two opposing Blue Angel F/A -18 Hornets scream towards each other and then bank roll and closely pass by each other. The maneuver is called the Opposing Knife-Edge Pass, The Blue Angels pilots perform precision flight demonstrations at airshows and this image was captured at Joint Base Andrew's "Legends in Flight" Airshow in May 2019. The performance group is comprised of 6 F/A - 18 Navy Jets painted in Blue and Gold. Jets #1- #6 are one seat jets while # 7 has a one front and one back seat that they allows them to take VIP on flights. In this image the #7 Jet is in front while the #6 Jet is behind on the pass.
